Meet Our Board
Rennee’ Hubb Johnson is an overcomer, author, entrepreneur, and Evangelist. Rennee’ was featured on WJLA 7 and 8, WUSA 9 News, Fox 5 News The Good Word Podcast with Tishia Lewis, Fox 45 News, and more sharing her testimony and business endeavors. Rennee’s nephew Marcus was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes (Type 1) as a child and his kidneys began to fail in his 20s. On February 14, 2020, Marcus received a dual transplant of a kidney and pancreas. The transplant was successful however, Marcus suffered several setbacks. He remained in the hospital for several months and passed away on July 22, 2020. Rennee’ honors him by keeping his memory alive and spreading awareness about kidney disease.
Board Vice President
Renee Brooks is a fervent family and community engagement leader. As a dedicated wife and mother, she has overcome many challenges throughout her life. Renee was diagnosed with lupus and kidney disease at the age of 38 shortly before giving birth to her daughter. After two years of dialysis, she received the gift of life from her brother 19 years ago. Renee is committed to sharing her health journey to raise kidney health awareness in her community.
Mrs. Katrice Howell was born in Washington, D.C. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Katrice is a Senior Auditor with the District of Columbia Office of the Inspector General (OIG). In this role, she oversees the audit engagement planning, conducts performance audits of District government agencies’ programs and operations, conducts interviews, prepares working papers, and prepares drafts and final audit reports. Katrice has over twenty-five (25) years of experience in preparing financial statements and conducting performance audits. Outside of her work responsibilities, Katrice serves as the Financial Director for the Dawne B. Garner Health and Wellness Foundation. As the Foundation’s Financial Director, Katrice maintains the books and records for the checking account, collects dues, and prepares budgets and monthly reports.
Kindness for Kidneys International is near and dear to Katrice’s heart because her cousin experienced chronic kidney disease, dialysis and received a kidney transplant. Katrice is excited to serve as Treasurer for Kindness for Kidneys International to educate, encourage, and empower kidney warriors and their families.
Karen Dominguez is a passionate and dedicated phlebotomist. Having been diagnosed with end stage renal disease at the age 9, she has overcome many obstacles and challenges throughout her life. As a Latina and 4 time kidney transplant recipient, Karen embodies the mission of Kindness for Kidneys and wants to use her lived experiences to raise kidney health awareness by educating patients and their families, especially in the Latino community.
